Preventative Maintenance Inspections

A Peace of Mind Property Inspection is a periodic visual inspection of properties that are vacant.  Your inspector will physically walk through your property on a preset schedule, complete a visual inspection, and provide you with a written monitoring report within hours.

Inspections can be scheduled for once, twice or three times each week.  Your inspection report will be emailed to you before the end of the business day in which they were completed.

Inspection reports will indicate any issues that are emerging with the property so that you can contact local service companies or contractors before property damage occurs.

A WETT inspection is an important part of a home purchase, and an inspection condition should always be part of an agreement of purchase and sale where the home has a fireplace or a woodstove.

WETT inspections can only be preformed by inspectors who are certified through Wood Energy Technology Transfer Inc. 

A WETT inspection report details the areas in which the wood burning appliance's installation meets or does not meet the manufacturer's instructions and appropriate building codes.

Your WETT report will

• Certify that the original installation of the fireplace or stove is correct and meets the manufactures specifications
• Note whether the fireplace or stove is in good repair and is safe to use   
• Provide documentation for your insurance company

WETT inspections are safety inspections.  If wood burning appliances are improperly used and maintained, they can be dangerous to the homeowner and could also prevent a buyer from getting home insurance.  If a wood-burning stove or fireplace is not used and maintained correctly, the results can be disastrous and even fatal.

And remember, all homes with fuel-fired appliances should have both a carbon monoxide (CO) detector and a smoke detector.
